The latest Apple iPad digital out adapter plugs right into the bottom of your iPAD and gives you video out options up to 720P for around $40.00 dollars. Using a HDMI cable as the link between the accessory and your TV, you will instantly be given a beautiful 4:3 aspect look at the desktop of your iPad. Firing up a YouTube video lets you output in full 16:9 and most games look fantastic when its outputted onto a HD TV, though they display in 4:3 as well.

Unfortunately, the AV Adapter will only work for apps that support it, so my hope of using this to display Amazon Instant Movies on my 40 inch LCD TV in the bedroom was met with crushing defeat. Its a shame that Apple does not design this device to automatically output everything as I imagine it could be done pretty easily.

If you would like to use your iPad for some sort of presentations, then this device could be pretty handy. Unfortunately the fact that some apps may not be supported makes the accessory a dice toss and its one you might not win at.
