If you recall a few months ago, my AK Octane gaming/computer chair broke after about 8 years of use and I was quite upset about. I loved that chair as it made me very comfortable for long writing, gaming and general computer sessions. My search to replace the broken chair with the exact same one was met with no results due to the fact that AK, the company that manufactured them is no longer in business. I searched online multiple times for a company that could possibly be the successor to AK, but also found nothing. Eventually, I settled on a chair from Staples for both my office at work and my game room and the results have been pretty poor and painful. Due to my some of the activities I did growing up, I tend to get chronic neck pain and occasional back pain. This has resurfaced more frequently since losing my fabled AK Octane chair and it’s getting pretty old, fast.

Last night however, I seemingly ran into what could be my new office/game room chair! Doing some searching for chairs on Amazon, I discovered a chair that looked similar to my old AK and I decided to purchase it. Enter the DXRACER DXCFBR02 by DXRACER!

This chair seems to nicely match up with what my AK Octane had and then some. Obviously, I can’t recommend the chair yet because I have to sit in it, but I’m looking forward to this thing arriving at my office so I can test it out. If the results are good, I’ll be looking to get the same brand for my game room.
DXRacer has actually been providing their products for many eSports outfits like WCG , IEM and LCS for a number of years. I’m sure if I followed eSports streams, I would have been aware of DXRacer some time ago, but I do not. How, unfortunate that this company did not show up in my searches earlier, as I bet I would have saved myself some money getting their chairs first! I’ll definitely be doing a review on this chair in the future to let you guys know how it stacks up with other chairs and most importantly if it takes top honors as the successor to my old AK Octane gaming chair!
