I just happened to be setting up a friend’s new IPod a few days ago when I found this cool little gem sitting on my fiancée’s mp3 music folder.
The Norgers 2.0 Mix Disc was a complilation for the hugely popular BT site www.bt-network.org a site that called it quits a few years ago and recently has resurfaced from the ashes to bring back the community aspect of things that BT’s music brought to us all. This disc basically represented the up and coming artists that posted songs on the message board and was mixed by yours truly. A copy of the disc was originally supposed to be sent to BT himself, but I don’t know if he ever actually got it or not. Anyways the hype was actually quite huge for the project and everyone was very happy to finally see that the disc was finished and released for purchase online.
A few weeks after its release the disc was pulled from its online marketplace when one of the artists on the disk claimed he didn’t know it was going to be released for commercial purposes and that it was going to BT. Terms were never met with the artist and the disk itself would never be sold again. The project that everyone worked so hard on to achieve was put down by one of its own.
I unfortunately only got one copy of the disk and gave it to a friend. I couldn’t get my second disk in time because it was pulled, I do however have it again in MP3 format thanks to my girlfriend’s laptop.
Now my friends, you will get a chance to hear this mix as well. Please bare in mind that this was a mix from 2003/2004 so it may be rough around the edges at time. However for all the different tempo’s and genre’s I think I did a very good job at the time considering my skill level.
