Halo 3 Artfx statue unboxing. (Review)

In what seemed like a longer wait then Halo 3 itself (Oh wait…I guess it was..) the Halo 3 ARTFX statue has finally been hitting comic shops and Gamestop stores around the country. This highly collectable $100 dollar statue has been dodging collectors with its multiple delays and extreme limit of release information. Now it is in the hands of one of the biggest Halo collectors and it is high time to tell you of if its worth your hard earned cash or gamer credit.

Getting to the Gamestop store it was easy to see that the designers put some major time into making sure the visual presentation of this statue was awesome. The box containing the Chief is high quality and made so that this 100 dollar beauty does not get damaged on the way to your home. The background features the mysterious Ark (Or not so mysterious anymore.) Also the box includes some information on the MC and future statues. (YES! FUTURE STATUES!) The box size itself is very close to the Legendary Halo 3 Edition box, in case you want to stack them for some reason…

Getting MC out of his plastic prison is easy enough and after pulling him out of the box you will be absolutely stunned by the detail of him. His armor suit is extremely detailed and his action stance recalls the very end of the Starry Night Video trailer where MC jumps into a horde of Brutes. The MC comes equipped with his two magnum pistols right out of the box, but there is also the option to switch his hands out with the energy sword. In my opinion, the pistols really don’t seem to capture the complete picture of this statue and I recommend you go with the Sword, which is located in the box along with a second hand.

Of course you could have him hold both a sword and a pistol in the other hand, but that could just cause Halo fan boy outrage. I mean come on! You can’t really dual wield a sword and pistol…

Overall, if you’re a hardcore Halo fahttp://unleadedlogic.com/test2/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/l_b3d80ccfbf55e53e27c817d8962c58fc.jpg
l_b3d80ccfbf55e53e27c817d8962c58fc.jpgn then there is really no reason why you shouldn’t want to add this statue to your stack of collectables. Casual Halo fans will simply look over it as a waste of pizza and Mountain Dew money. (Or Sierra Mist….I have to cater to all fans you know.)

I did speak of future statues and on the back of the box it proudly announces that Cortana will be joining this brand new league of statues as well. With a LED light up display no less. Finally I can rest in peace for not every being able to obtain her from the first series of action figures.
