No multiplayer achievements in Call of Duty 4!

That’s right folks; those who like to hunt down their achievements on the multiplayer portion of their fresh new copy of COD4 may be met with abit of disappointment. There are absolutely no multiplayer achievements to be earned on the game.

Instead, achievement whores will be pitted against the CPU on various levels of difficulty and accomplishing certain requirements in order to receive their favorite little pop up: Achievement unlocked. Those who played Call of Duty 2 shouldn’t be too surprised; Infinity Ward had all the achievements based on the single player element on that game as well.

Will this hamper the amount of people that will play COD4 online? I doubt it; COD4 is a very solid title online and has enough development to keep people interested, regardless of the lack of achievements. I personally applaud IW for deciding the keep the achievements on a single player basis only. Far too many times we get frustrated because the achievements for some online games are next to impossible and many times factor into how good the team is. With single player only achievements, players will have to work hard to horn their skills and it will give them the chance to experience the game in a few different lights with the added difficulty.

Would you like to see this more in future games? Why or why not?
